| The Ecologic range of household cleaners look deeply at the environmental impact of its products before all formulas are accepted and offered to the market. They are useful, gentle alternatives for sensitive skin and keep in mind our fragile environment. The purest of ingredients have been sourced and we go as far as to even use pure essential oils for their great aromas and their natural properties. The first detergents in the world were made in France in 1831 from a mixture of pure olive oil dissolved in sulphuric acid. This foamed and cleaned off grease and dirt without the use of harsh synthetic detergents that were developed before World War 1. Ecologic products use a simple natural method to develop its non-toxic household range. Most detergents, even so called natural ones on offer contain dyes and artificial fragrances that can irritate your skin or trigger eczema. They may contain polluting phosphates, silicates and so called natural artificial brightening agents. They are also very toxic if swallowed and have been implicated as low-level carcinogens. Also many are known to even create air pollution. Some detergents are highly alkaline and can be harmful if splashed into the eyes or swallowed. Ecologic cleaners contain no animal fats and do not add any chlorine to act as a disinfectant. Ecologic blends are formulated with the understanding that some people are sensitive to certain components in detergents, like those containing enzymes that may develop rashes when wearing clothes washed in them. Organic soapwort is added as it contributes as a natural foaming agent. Seaweed extracts are added to help as a preservative that breaks down quickly when released into our seas and oceans. An organic herbal blend is added for its antibacterial properties. Natural gums are added for stability and no fillers are used. It goes without saying no animal testing is ever done or ever will be done. Ecologic does not use Petroleum solvents of any kind. Many manufacturers would argue that White Spirit, Kerosene, Petroleum spirits and other benzene type chemicals are derived from nature and add them to so called natural cleaners. Ecologic products do not contain Chlorinated Organic Solvents like Freon, Chloroform, Metylene Chlorine, Carbon Tetrachloride, Dichloromethane or Perchlorethylene that are also added to some so called natural products. |
