Place a equal amount of sliced onion into liquid and simmer for five minutes.
DO not boil.
Strain and rub windows and doors with cloth soaked in blend.

ants

Grow spearmint, tansy, pennyroyal, peppermint near doors and windows.

Clove leaves oil can be used for black ants.

Repellent oils are Spearmint, Peppermint, Garlic, Citronella, pennyroyal and red pepper.

Place 10 drops of any oil above with vinegar and use to wash were ants are moving; this will deter their movement. Wash area for three days and they will get the hint and will move on.

insect deterrents - spray around the home
  • 10 tablespoons eucalyptus oil
  • 3 table spoons bergamot oil
  • 2 table spoons methol
  • 1 cup tablespoons alcohol
  • 1 litre water

mix all but the water together
dilute 1 to 10 parts water.

outside the home & around the cupboards and shelves insect repellent
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 cup eucalyptus oil
  • 3 tablespoons lavender oil
  • 2 jars of lemon peels

pour all ingredients into jars
leave over night or two then stain
rub as needed
add a tablespoon of pyrethum or feverfew flowers for better results

personal insect deterrents
  • 5 tablespoons peppermint oil
  • 5 tablespoons citronella oil or pennyroyal oil
  • 25 tablespoons olive oil

mix together - ready to use
Also 5 table spoons of lavender oil can be added for a different aroma.

personal skin repellent
  • 3 tablespoons of oil of cloves
  • 5 tablespoons bay leaf
  • 5 tablespoon eucalyptus oil
  • 150 tablespoons alcohol
  • 200 tablespoons water

mix together - can be sprayed near wounds.

cabbage moth deterrent

Add four drops of vinegar with 500ml skin milk, brush cabbage leaves to help repel moths.

moth repellent
  • 1 cup dried mint
  • 1 cup dried rosemary
  • 1 cup dried southerwood or lavender flowers
  • 1 cup dried tansy
  • 1 cup dried thyme
  • 1 cup ground cloves

mix together, place in draws and wardrobes in Hessian material or in bowls.

Rue, tansy, wormwood, basil, mint, pennyroyal.

snail bait
  1. Mix bran with pyrethrum powder and add molasses to bind. Roll into small pellets and place around garden.
  2. Try a more natural way by going outdoors for three nights with a torch and physically looking for them, picking them up and placing them in a bucket or two. This will help rid of most your snail problems for the season
